The Government's promises to fix the housing crisis? Pure BS. It's clear now they were lying.

Even those tiny "dog crate" condos are seeing fewer builds nationwide.

2024 is set to hit a 7 or 10-year low for ALL housing starts.

For over a decade, single-family home construction has been in freefall. Cities and urban planners decided 25 years ago that sprawl was the enemy and high-density living was the only solution. They pushed for condos, and developers maximized profits by making them smaller and smaller.

Sure, some provinces like Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba still build low-rise homes. But in cities across the country, high-rises dominate. Is density bad? No. But 385 sq ft condos are ridiculous.

Why destroy housing choice? If low-rise homes are what many Canadians aspire to, shouldn't we provide more of them, especially in the world's second-largest country?

Who decided single-family homes aren't for us? The 40-year record lows in single-family home permits suggest someone made that choice. And the few being built are insanely expensive in BC and Ontario.

Let's start asking: Why have cities and provinces decided that single-family housing must end?
